How much do missed roofing calls cost?
The cost is not the call itself. The cost is the estimate that never gets booked, the quote that does not get a second touch, and the roof job that goes to a faster competitor.
Use this formula
Monthly missed leads x booking rate x close rate x average job profit = estimated monthly lost profit.
Example
If a roofer gets 120 inbound leads per month, misses or replies slowly to 25 percent, books 40 percent of replied leads, closes 35 percent of estimates, and earns $1,800 profit per job, the estimated lost profit is $7,560 per month.
What to track
Track the source, estimate value, lead status, next follow-up date, and the person responsible. That gives the office a daily recovery queue instead of a pile of open callbacks.
What to send first
A good first reply is short and specific: ask whether the customer needs repair, replacement, leak inspection, storm damage help, or a scheduling window. Then set the next follow-up date immediately.
